A global survey by Dimension Data highlighted that when an IT issue occurs, 60% responded that it will take more than 15 minutes to just identify who is responsible for it. Finding the right person takes as long as, or longer, to resolve the issue.

Within this 15 minutes, 45% surveyed that the business will already be negatively impacted by this downtime.

What is the best solution to provide IT teams with greater respond time to deal with IT issues?

According to the survey, if an IT alert was immediately send to the right person, 91% surveyed said it will result in faster issue resolution, less downtime and reduced the impact on the business.

The survey shared that if the alerts went to the bosses or known to be send to the bosses, the person responsible for the issue will more likely respond it faster.

On the contrary, spamming the entire IT team only results in reduce accountability and present greater opportunity to deny responsibility.
